Cardiovascular risk has been studied for decades, and the methods for estimating it are published and openly documented. Almost none of that reaches the person it is about. Most people meet their numbers as a line on a lab report, or not at all.

Cardea started from that gap. The arithmetic was never the hard part — the hard part is turning a percentage into something a person can read on a Tuesday evening and act on. So the product is built around the explanation as much as the score.

What we are aiming for: a check that is honest about what it can and cannot say, detailed enough to be worth your time, and clear enough that the next step is obvious.

A health number you do not understand is not information — it is anxiety with a decimal point. We would rather show fewer figures and explain every one of them.

That shapes what we will and will not do: no invented scoring, no certainty we have not earned, and no result presented as a verdict when it is an estimate.
